Optimize Your Revenue Cycle for Accurate Value-Based Care Capture
Presented by: HealthLeaders
10:00 - 11:05 AM EST
About the Session:
Because of CMS and other regulatory entities, value-based care plays a heavy hand in hospital reimbursement. Hospital reimbursement through value-based care models is dependent on quality and cost performance. The shift to value-based care requires organizations to revisit and evolve their existing revenue cycle management approaches.
This panel will discuss ways to optimize the revenue cycle by switching from the value verses volume mindset, looping in physicians, and minimizing potential risk factors at an organization.
Speakers:
Kory Anderson, MD, Medical Director of Physician Advisor Services, CDI, and Quality, Intermountain Healthcare
Value-based care: Evolution from fee-for-service or a clean break?
Presented by: HealthLeaders
11:10 - 12:10 PM EST
About the Session:
One of the criticisms of the shift from fee-for-service reimbursement to value-based reimbursement is that many value-based care initiatives are based on a fee-for-service infrastructure. For example, bundled payment models provide a single payment for “bundles” of related services during an episode of care. One bundled payment model is for joint replacement, where there is one payment instead of paying the surgical setting, physicians, and other providers for each service they offer.
Speakers:
Harold Miller, President, Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform
William Johnjulio, Chief Population Health Officer, Chair of Primary Care Institute, & Medical, Director of Clinically Integrated Network, Allegheny Health Network
Establishing Value-Based Care With Mental Health
Presented by: HealthLeaders
12:15 - 1:15 PM EST
About the Session:
As the nation experiences a mental healthcare crisis, healthcare organizations and providers are embracing new platforms and services to improve access to care and clinical outcomes. With this, they're redefining the ROI for mental healthcare and helping to establish the strategy for shifting from fee-for-service to value-based healthcare. But how are they defining 'value'? And how do these new services help the healthcare industry transition to a new model of care that focuses more on health and wellness than episodic treatments?
