The Medicare of the Future
Sponsored by: Carallel
Presented by: HealthLeaders
10:00 - 11:05 PM EST
About the Session:
For plan year 2023, Medicare Advantage enrollment will represent 50% of all Medicare beneficiaries — growing to 70% by 2030. How will these public and private models co-exist as enrollment shifts? How might the beneficiary populations differ, as well as approaches to managing their care experience? How will providers be impacted, including the power dynamics between them and commercial MA plans? These and other questions will be explored in this panel.
Panelists:
Shara L. Cohen, JD, President and CEO, Carallel
Monica Engel, SVP, President of Government Markets, BCBS MN
Charlene MacDonald, Chief Government Affairs Officer and SVP, CareFirst BCBS
Kurt Wrobel, GHP President and EVP of Insurance Operations, Geisinger Health Plan

Presented by: HealthLeaders
11:10 - 12:10 PM EST
About the Session:
Both traditional Medicare and MA are converging toward value-based care. Learn how technology will continue to bridge the VBC gaps and obstacles created by regulation and infrastructure.

Medicare Benefits 2030
Presented by: HealthLeaders
12:15 - 1:15 PM EST
About the Session:
MA plans already offer a benefit advantage over traditional Medicare in such basic areas as dental, vision, and hearing. Other MA-only benefits already range from fitness memberships and acupuncture to meals and transportation. The latter hint at the progression of MA supplemental benefits, including debit cards to pay for groceries and utilities, to address the social determinants of health. In this panel, speakers will address this coverage trajectory, the impact it will have on Original Medicare enrollment, and what it will take to integrate health equity more deeply into benefit design.
