AGENDA OVERVIEW

Keeping the Lights On and the Coffee Hot: Establishing a Cybersecurity Team
Presented by
: HealthLeaders
10:00 - 11:05 AM EST

About the Session:

With data security incidents on the rise and staffing levels less than optimal, a health system must be strategic in its cybersecurity strategy. How much is budgeted, who’s in charge, and how is this department staffed? This panel will examine how health systems budget for security, develop a management structure for effective cybersecurity, and find (and keep) the right people for those positions.

Panelists:
Eric Wicklund (Moderator), Senior Innovation & Technology Editor, HealthLeaders

Battle Stations: Identifying and Addressing the Latest Threats
Presented by
: HealthLeaders
11:10 - 12:10 PM EST

About the Session:

How does a health system keep up with the latest cybersecurity threats, and what does it do when a threat is identified? This panel will focus on the daily routine for a health system’s cybersecurity team, including strategies for staying ahead of the biggest dangers and reacting quickly when a threat has been spotted. In addition, we’ll explore how this department interacts with other departments to ensure that financial, clinical, and patient concerns are addressed.

Panelists:
Eric Wicklund (Moderator), Senior Innovation & Technology Editor, HealthLeaders

What to Do When the Lights Go Off
Presented by: HealthLeaders
12:15 - 1:15 PM EST

About the Session:

Every cybersecurity strategy must include steps to take when a health system’s data security is breached, data is stolen, or the system is shut down. How does a health system react to the attack, secure what it has, ensure clinical care is not compromised and claw back to the surface?

This panel will focus on lessons learned and best practices for recovery, examining what health systems did right (and wrong). We’ll talk about developing protocols for when disaster strikes, what to do when clinical care is affected, working with vendors to restore IT services, and making sure it doesn’t happen again.

Panelists:
Eric Wicklund (Moderator), Senior Innovation & Technology Editor, HealthLeaders
